Dear Physics 129L students, I graded homework 8. I understand that it was very hard (by design). Many of you did quite well on it, exceeding my expectations. Good job. The solutions are posted. I then calculated a "combined" numerical score for each student as the average of the best 7 homework scores out of 8. I then assigned letter grades as follows: >97 A+ >90 A >86 A- >82 B+ >77 B >73 B- >68 C+ >60 C >55 C- >50 D+ >45 D+ In some cases I rounded up, when the numerical score was close to the letter grade boundary (*) If you find a problem, come see me. The first week of Spring quarter I will be available Monday and Tuesday. Then I will go to CERN for 10 days, so you should try to catch me before I leave. It is probably best to make an appointment. Email brittany@physics.ucsb.edu for a 15 minute appointment, (she has my schedule). Have a great spring break. C. (*) If I did not round up your score, it was because I decided that it was not close enough to the boundary. Yes, the boundaries are arbitrary. Please do not argue....
